Tullis Rennie – My Own Devices V (September 2026)

My Own Devices V (September 2026) – the latest broadcast from Tullis’s studio-shed in Hastings, a workspace turned transmission point. This one kicks off rhythmically, drawing on an analogue drum machine, a small synth, two effects units, and an acoustic piano. Each episode shifts shape: live improvised electronic sketches, drifting ambient jams, exploratory improvisations… A loose document of what’s unfolding in the room – a process of continual experimentation, captured in motion.

Tullis is a composer, improvising trombonist, electronic musician, and field recordist who “foregrounds the act of listening as an active component in the creation of musical experience” (The Wire Magazine). His sonic explorations move between experimental electronics, free improvised music, and leftfield club energy. His ‘My Own Devices’ show is fluid and unexpected – rooted in improvisation, this is a monthly hour of in-the-moment-music-making that stretches time, blurs genre, and sits somewhere between dancefloor and daydream.
